Learning Contract
Topic: Academic Adjustment
Goal Statement: To make a resource that my students can use to find information about many different opportunities such as minors in disciplines such as business, biology, chemistry, French, as well as MBA, and studying abroad. It will include all the requirements for them.
Activities / Resources: Many of my students were asking about different majors and minors they can pursue along with pharmacy. This resource will list out the requirements for different majors and minors the students requested so that all the information is in one place. It will also have a study abroad checklist so that students can be organized in planning a study abroad experience.
Evidence: I will include the packet I make for them.
Topic: Involvement
Goal Statement: To assess what type of organization would be suitable for each individual student and show them different organizations they can join.
Activities / Resources: I will construct a quiz that shows what type of student group suits the personal goals and objectives of the students. It will ask questions of their preferences in picking a group from different categories for each group. I broke them down to categories such as Spirit organization, hobbies, diversity, service etc. The category they chose most often on the quiz once the results are tallied tells which type of group may interest them the most. I will then email out a list with different student groups broken down into one of these categories so the students can choose which fits for them.
Evidence: I will include the quiz, the answer sheet, and the list of many popular student organizations on campus.
Topic: Campus Resources
Goal Statement: To show my students some of the places and resources here on campus I set up a scavenger hunt for them.
Activities / Resources: The students will have lists of ten places or things around campus, at the places they must take a picture and the others are items they must obtain. This will show them places that they may need to visit over their time here as well as traditions here at URI such as taking a picture of the ram outside the union.
Evidence: I will have a copy of the list of things they must look for as well as some of their pictures.
